This multi dialectical Igbo Dictionary Project has come a long way but by no means anywhere near completion.

The approach to data collection here is discovering the words in their natural habitats namely: verbal communication of indigenous Igbo speaker in their native dialects, Published and unpublished literary works by Igbo scholars and language fans, internet based blogs and social media forums.

With over 30,000 entries from Ndi Igbo in several countries from all works of life, diverse Igbo dialects, our goal is to build a comprehensive Igbo – English Dictionary.

This lofty project is sustained by the painstaking collaborative effort in data collection and feedback from all who hold Igbo Language dear to heart and are determined to make a positive difference in our endangered language.

For the Igbo language student as well as the proficient speaker, access to the right word at the right time on a portable device offers a tremendous boost in confidence when communicating in Igbo language.
